Tubing

Our tubing is the highest quality oilfield Grade ‘E’ steel, cold drawn over mandrel, with 80 000 PSI yield and 100 000 PSI tensile strength. It is perfectly round and without seams of any kind. This results in exact dimensions on the OD & ID, which means superior strength & wear factors. This is the same quality of tubing as is used in the manufacture of oilfield drill pipe.

Tool Joints

Tool joints are 4140 quenched & tempered alloy steel with a core hardness of 28-34 Rockwell and a skin hardness (0.2 mm thick) of 55-58 Rockwell. The skin hardness increases overall surface wear life and thread life, in some cases up to 50%. While the outer surface provides superior protection from wear, the inner core maintains the ductile strength necessary to handle the shock loading and torque demands of a drilling operation.

Inertia Welding

Sometimes called friction welding, this is the latest welding technology. It is used to fuse the tool joints to the tubing. This same method is used in producing oilfield drill pipe which is rated for use to depths in excess of 25 000 ft.
All inertia welds are inspected before leaving the factory.

 Reverse Circulation (RC) Pipe

Our RC Drill Pipe uses the same Grade ‘E’ steel, cold drawn over mandrel tubing and tool joint quality as the above pipe. Some additional RC pipe features :

• No Connector Tubes - Inner tube connections mate up automatically when pipe is joined
• Replaceable Inner Tubes – Field replaceable with simple circlip and standard ‘O’ rings
• Fixed, Non-Rotating Inner Tube – Utilizes steel stabilizers; no rubber slough off damaging hammer
• Inertia Welded Outer Pipe – The only RC pipe available utilizing the superior inertia welding technique     

Configuration 

Drill pipe is available in all common thread styles, sizes and lengths. Wrench flat length, width, location from shoulder and number of flats per end are all available to order.
